The Chinese are the undisputed king in the art of the skewer. They skewered everything. Always open, sometimes cooked on makeshift grills in the street with the only result that seems to be to Easter every day ... And since we are really the people most omnivorous of the world, why stop at meat, when you can do skewers of Cockroach?
